Hayfield Manor Review
In January 2026, my best friend and I decided to road trip around the West Coast of Ireland. We flew from Dublin to Kerry, then drove an abridged version of the Ring of Kerry through Cork and back to Dublin. We stayed the night in Cork so we could explore this beloved city a bit, and stayed at the beautiful Hayfield Manor.
Price and Room Overview
We’ll get the important info out of the way. We had a room with 2 queen beds, a view, and a beautiful bathroom (no tub), for around $350 for one night.
We told the hotel when booking that we were celebrating my best friend’s engagement, and there was a bit of a misunderstanding… I have an androgynous name so they assumed my best friend and I were engaged, which then was a bit perplexing to their older staff who assumed we were gay. They gave us a bottle of champagne in our room, a sweet treat, and congratulated us :) We took it in stride.
Amenities
The hotel is very much “OLD MONEY,” with dark paneled wood walls, fireplaces, tufted couches and loveseats. They boast multiple bars, a library, a garden, and a beautiful breakfast room with views of the garden space.
The bar we visited provided your classic cocktails and your draught beers - we opted for the “pornstar martini,” or more respectably referred to here as simply the “passionfruit martini,” It was perfect. We chose to enjoy this perfect cocktail in the library near the fireplace to warm up and discuss how perfect our first day of our road trip had been.
Our breakfast was included in our room reservation and I’m so glad that it was. They had a menu to choose from (I chose the avocado toast, my friend chose the scrambled eggs and pancakes), while also having an entire room dedicated to, essentially, accoutrements. Honey comb, smoothies, juices, sweet bites, fruit, cheeses and meats, and yogurts. The yogurt they offered changed my life (Killowen, if you happen to read this, I miss you).
An amenity we greatly enjoyed since we were driving was the free valet. We tipped, of course, but it was complimentary for hotel guests, which was a little luxury.
As soon as we checked out of Hayfield Manor, Ro and I said we absolutely need to visit again.
