Malibu Bachelorette Itinerary

My best friend and travel partner, Ro, is getting married this year! So naturally, this means it’s time to plan a bachelorette party :)

She told her planning committee (myself and 2 other planners in the group) that she wanted it on a beach and Love Island-themed. We presented her and the group with a few options and we landed on Malibu

Where We Stayed

We had a large group of 11 girls, so we needed a large space. We rented this Airbnb for around $400/per person.

The house itself was stunning - an infinity pool overlooking the mountains and the ocean, a hot tub, massive rooms with incredible views. Lots of greenery, huge windows with amazing views. It was a picture-perfect space. My bathroom had a window also looking out over the ocean and mountains, which was so calming.

The 2 issues we ran into were the lack of cell service + the remoteness of the house. The majority of us girls had AT&T cell service, which we found out on this trip does not work very well in Malibu… So unless we were connected to WiFi, we had no service. Leaving the house meant at least 20-30 minutes of SOS on our phones. Which wouldn’t be an issue besides the fact that our house was so secluded and we had to drive up an incredibly narrow and windy road up a mountain with no barrier to block the cliff…

The remoteness was an issue because it cost us nearly $100 (give or take) every time we wanted to leave the house. This also caused an issue because by the 2nd day, we could not get any Ubers or Lyfts to come up the mountain to pick us up. We would ask every driver who would brave the mountain, if they would come back if we paid them cash or if we could request them, and every single driver said “I’m never driving up this road again” LOL. So our third day was spent by the pool, which was fine, but this was very stressful on our final day when our scheduled Ubers to the airport all cancelled.

We ended up paying a private driving service to pick us up and take us to the airport, but this meant I got to the airport 6 hours before my departure because I needed to go with the group.

Our Itinerary

We landed on Thursday around noon and made our way to Malibu. Once we all dropped our belongings off, we went back down the mountain and visited Neptune’s Net - a famous seafood shack on the beach. We all got some beers and seafood - I got the fish tacos - and just caught up since we all live across the South.

From here, a few of us went to the grocery store, Pavilions, to grab essentials + snacks, and some pizza from Papa Razzi’s, all from Point Dume Village - a cute and very small shopping center with some restaurants, boutiques, and a grocery store. We ended this evening with pizza and hanging out at the house giggling.

The next morning, we all visited Paradise Cove Cafe for brunch. The portions here are MASSIVE, we all could’ve split maybe 4 dishes and would’ve had PLENTY of food… I got the acai bowl and it was a half of a pineapple carved out with STUFFED with acai puree, fresh fruit, and granola - drizzled with honey on top.

Paradise Cove is also a beach, with rentals available, so we rented a patch with some chairs, umbrellas, and a cabana ($600 for the entire day, so $60 per person). We could grab drinks from inside the cafe and bring them to our beach site, and order food from the waiters. The beach also had tide pools, so we wandered and played marine biologist - seeing a baby octopus, a huge sea snail, lots of mussels, and gorgeous shells.

Around 4pm, we made our way back to the house to get ready for dinner at Malibu Farm. I’ve eaten at a few of their restaurants across Newport Beach, San Diego, and now Malibu - every time the food is delicious, healthy, and beautifully plated. I ordered the soy-glazed salmon and the shaved brussels sprout salad - amazing!

We planned on visiting Sake House for drinks after dinner, but we all decided to head back to the house and hang there.

Saturday morning, we woke up and I led a soft yoga flow and stretch by the pool overlooking the mountains and ocean - a dream! This day we planned on visiting Malibu Winery and shopping at Malibu Village and Malibu Country Mart…. However, we could not get a car to pick us up. After 2 hours of trying, we decided to make margaritas and enjoy our pool and hot tub.

We ended our trip with a private chef cooking us an incredible dinner during sunset and spending some quality time with our friends and celebrating our Ro.
